Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
My sound is a little bit of '60s throwback with more modernized beats and edgy, fun lyrics.
Who are your musical influences and idols?
I am strongly influenced by iconic pop females such as Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Gwen Stefani.
What was the first album, cassette, or CD you bought with your own money?
The first CD I ever bought was a Spice Girls record!
I think "That's What I Like" is one of the catchiest songs I've heard this year. Are you working on a full album? If so, is there anything you can tell us about it?
Thanks! I am definitely working on an album and already have some great songs I've recorded. I don't want to rush this process as I want my music to define me in the right way because it is my first release. I am in the studio trying out different stuff in the same style and looking for more writers to collaborate with. I am planning another single release soon though!
The video was is much darker than the song, and it's also extremely stylish looking. I read it was made using cinemagraphs. Was there anything special you had to do during filming to achieve the killer visuals? I'm assuming the video isn't autobiographical, so what's the craziest thing you've ever done to an ex?
There was a lot of staying still and when I was doing the singing parts, I could only move my lips in the shots, almost like a mannequin. It was hard keeping my eyes open for so long! I'm not saying that I wasn't living out a fantasy in the video, but nothing crazy yet!
You're currently in New York City for the first time. How is it? Have you done all the touristy things yet? What' s been your favorite moment so far?
New York is definitely a crazy exciting city and I made sure to do Times Square first and grab a slice of NY style pizza. My favorite moment so far has been seeing a show on Broadway. It's been a dream of mine to go see one since I was little and was doing musical theater!
Final question: you're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five do you choose and what song do you all perform as the final jam?
Line up would have to be: The Beatles (would bring a lot of screaming fans!), The Spice Girls, Elvis, Gwen Stefani, and David Bowie! We would all perform "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"
