You know how you know you've made it as an athlete? When someone writes a song about you. And not some self-serving song to be performed by you like "The Super Bowl Shuffle."
John Parr has remade his '80s hit "St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)" and changed the lyrics so that the song is now about Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow.
Now I'm a natural born cynic so when I hear something like this, I think it has to be fake and simply the misguided hijinks of some wacky morning radio show. Except for one small problem...
It sounds just like John Parr:
Now if only Michael Stipe can get the boys in R.E.M. and re-record "Superman" for my man Cam Newton, I'd be ecstatic!
Cam is, Cam is, Cam is Superman...
