The good news: After taking trip with more twists than a Hitchcock movie, Wonder Woman is finally getting made.
The mediocre news: It's going to be a TV series, not a movie.
The bad news: It's going to have more in common with Ally McBeal than a comic super hero.
Deadline posted this logline of the project:
"In the reboot, from Warner Bros. TV, Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life."
This is highly disappointing, but not surprising, news considering the man behind the new series is none other than David E. Kelley, the creator of Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, The Practice and a host of other legal dramas.
I for one don't want to see Wonder Woman juggling a high-powered job while fighting crime any more than I want to see Bruce Wayne handling the day-to-day business of Wayne Enterprises. I want to see Wonder Woman kicking ass, lassoing people and flying invisible jets.
Fanboys of the world, start your complaining!
