YouTube turned five this week and I've only begun to realize its true potential: to find clips of all those little-known, oddball shows I watched as a kid just to prove that they did exist, and wasn't some kind of cough syrup induced dream while home sick from school.
I hadn't thought about Today's Special in years when another blog I read made a vague reference to it. Frankly I was shocked that so many commenters remembered the show. No one I know personally did, and generally look at me like I've just sprouted a second head when I say "mouse puppets," and "dancing mannequin who comes alive with the words, 'hocus pocus alimagocus!'"
