When I bought Little Creatures, my first reaction was, "What the hell is this?"But it had nothing to do with the music.
It was the packaging that left me confused.
Up until that point, barring the odd black or stark white, all the prerecorded cassettes I had purchased were a creamy, off-white color. But Little Creatures was different.
It was clear!
Clear?
I am a skeptical person, so I naturally assumed that it was a bootleg or something. It didn't help that I had bought the tape hundreds of miles from home, on the boardwalk at Wildwood, NJ.
But it was the real deal. It played just fine. And I had it worn out by Xmas time.
