Shall We Play a Game?

Who wants to buy me something totally geeky and awesomely useless?

Engadget is reporting that the prop computer that Matthew Broderick used to connect to W.O.P.R. and hack the military in the 1983 film WarGames is up for sale!

It's been appraised at $25,000. Yes, that's $25,000 real American dollars for a fake computer that MIGHT read a floppy disk.

I really did dig this movie, though. Michael Broderick, Ally Sheedy, Dabney Coleman, killer computers, what's not to love?

There was a WarGames sequel that was released direct to video not that long ago. It was called WarGames: The Dead Code and it looked TERRIBLE. The computer was named R.I.P.L.E.Y. like Sigourney in Alien. And I read somewhere that W.O.P.R. makes a comeback. Because I'm sure that the military was still using the psycho computer gone wild still. Why not?

Has anyone actually seen the sequel? It's on Netflix Instant and it's tempting to make up a drinking game and watch it. Here's the trailer in case you somehow missed it:
